It is. Exorcist II is certainly ambitious and original, but it's still a terrible film.

Exorcist II wasn't as bad as I'd been lead to believe. I thought it was more boring than bad. The first one obviously crushes it though.

For some reason I keep coming across reviews claiming that Exorcist II "isn't actually 'that' bad", or even that it's "pretty all right" if you treat it as its own thing rather than as a sequel to the original, but I'm here to say that: no, it really is "that bad", both as a standalone film and as a sequel. Perhaps not literally "one of the worst movies of all time", but still: very, very bad.
