The Place Promised in Our Early Days, while it should be my favorite Shinkai film, is actually my least favorite. Alternate histories are so interesting, and the idea of Hokkaido falling under Soviet occupation after WWII isn't that far fetched. Sadly, it focuses more on the love triangle between the teenagers who for some reason are tasked with saving the entire planet. The Garden of Words, is one of the most visually beautiful animated films ever and a wonderfully intimate experience with the two main characters. Garden of Words EASILY takes this.

The Place Promised in Our Early Days It was truly a great movie with great characters and then the ending was truly unexpected for me one of Makoto Shinkai's best movies instead The Garden of Words everyone says it is his best film but for me for now he was the only oneMovie that I didn't like at all because the story is too short given that it only lasts 45 minutes and then things aren't done well, for example it has a fifteen year old boy who is engaged to a 38 year old woman, be careful of spoilers but in the end it doesn't end put together it was just a movieuseless it's only unless I'm happy that the other movies I liked unlike this one
