For once the remake beats the original (it helps they were both pumped out at the end of the classic period). Executioners has a weightier generational drama-oriented story arc and sort of fails in that regard; you're only gonna be coming out remembering the goofy shit. 5 minutes is a tad long for a questionable rape joke. None of the protagonists are memorable, besides that guy's stupid hair. So on and so forth. Clan cuts out all the fat and emphasizes all the glib, absurd elements, and is 100 times more fun in the process. Lo Lieh is amazing in both, anyway.

No question about it. I echo all the comments from the good Uncle. Clan (Fists here in the U.S.) of the White Lotus is easily the better film
