These are too films that remind me of the other, due to the settings. Hud is superior. The character of Hud and his evolution/resolution is unlike any other character in that era.

Hud was brilliant but The Last Picture Show became a beloved favorite of mine. I even visited the town where it was filmed.

Yeah Ear, you are right. The Last Picture Show is significantly better than Hud. Hud is an All-time unique character in film, but the Screenplay and the scenes with Ben Johnson and Cloris Leachman, in The Last picture show, are unbelievable.
