I really wanted to like this movie. The aesthetic is all there. The editing, the cinematography, the score, and the presentation of the story were all great; yet the story feels very empty. For a character piece, it's surprisingly devoid of all things that make characters interesting AND the filmmakers choose to leave out stuff that is only mentioned in passing, that would look a whole lot better than what we got. Ultimately we just end up with a very pretty gift wrapped empty box.

Agreed with pretty much everything you said here. It looks great, but by the end of the movie I couldn't help but give it a 3/5. Pretty mediocre.
