Young and pretty blonde woman arrives on a bus with two suitcases, one of which is a wind up record player with one record. She steps off the bus and grinds her ciggy into the greasy bus landing with her open toed white sandal and heads for a boarding house, soon to be stocked by the fabulous Percy Helton (his fav film he has said, he finally got a leading role) who follows her and stares at her feet without her even knowing. He lives in the same seedy boarding house across the hall and sees her coming. She gets a job at a bar with the handsome Matt (Richard Egan). This film GRABS you. Interesting, campy soundtrack. Excellent early 50's score has an upbeat, fun, pub like feel. Lots of constant action and great character actors. Must see. I have watched this at least 30 times. It draws you in and is SUPER classic film-noir. Campy, lurid and fun. Said to be Brad Pitt's fav movie as well a couple other celebs. You can watch this over and over for the fun, campy score alone. This led me to watch beautiful Beverly Michaels other films as well.
