The realest depiction of modern mental health struggles I've seen in a movie.

After watching it, I casually looked it up online and it broke my heart to see that so many people were just mocking it. They're lucky. This one hit close to home.

All of the backlash really makes me think- do people really hate me for my mental health struggles as much as I worry they do? The backlash suggests so, and that hurts. People really need to understand struggles with mental health better, not just act like they do. They need to realise that there's ugly sides of it too- it's not something dignified and secretive and beautiful like other media would have you believe- it's an awful, awkward, fumbling mess which you have to fight through with all of your might just to keep going, and this movie showed that fully, without compromise. The fact that it made so many other people uncomfortable enough to just mock it is a sad state of affairs for the public's understanding of mental health issues.
